Cell Organelle Student Project
This Cell Analogy Project presented to 8th graders allowed students to explore cells and create their own definitions by using real world examples. The students were not only assessed based on the content, but their ability to create analogies as well. This lesson is aligned with Danielson's elements of 3a,3b,3c,3d, and 3e under component three because it takes into consideration the different types of learning styles that are present in students. Teaching 7.1 and 7.2- Cells and Cell Structure
The Gallery Walk was created in response to students requesting more graphic organizers. This Gallery Walk was implemented to teach 7.1 and 7.2 instead of a lecture based lesson because the 10th grade students have seen this material previous years. The Gallery Walk supports Danielson's elements of 3a,3b,3c,3d,and 3e under component three because it shows my flexibility to change lesson plans and respond to students needs. The Gallery Walk also engaged students in learning by allowing them to research specific topics present in poster form. They became the masters of their own personalized content.
